Place the extender in the range of the WiFi router.
Now plug in the extender and power it on.
Let the LED turn orange.

Insert extender.linksys.com in the address bar and hit the Enter key to move further.
Read the End User License Agreement and agree to it.
Click Start Setup.
It will prompt you to choose the WiFi name.
Select your router’s SSID and enter its WiFi password. Click Next.
Your Linksys extender will now get its SSID with a suffix _Ext to the network name.
You can choose to assign a new name to the extender’s network.
Create a WiFi password and select Security mode.
Do this for both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks and click Next.
A page named Spot Finder opens up. This will help you find an ideal location for your Linksys RE6350 WiFi extender.
As soon as your extender is placed at an optimum location, click the Back link.
Now, create an admin password for the Linksys login account.
Register your WiFi extender by entering your email address. You can skip and do this later.
You can now update your extender’s firmware. You can skip this step too and update your extender later.
Your extender will restart itself when the firmware updates.
Connect to the extender’s new SSID using the WiFi password.

Tips to Avoid Linksys Extender Setup Issues

How to Update Linksys RE6350 Extender Firmware?

NOTE: To log in you can use extender.linksys.com. You can also use http://re6350 on Windows computer or http://re6350.local on Mac device. You can also use the extender’s IP address.

Upon logging in, click on the Firmware Upgrade option under Administration.

Click on the Update Now button to install the firmware on your extender.
Wait for some time and let the firmware update complete.

How to Reset Linksys RE6350 Extender?

Check that the extender is powered on while you reset it.
